Harris County ‐ On Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 10:32 a.m., the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office was requested by Cy‐Fair Fire Department to investigate a vehicle fire in the 6700 block of Haven Creek Drive in northwest Harris County. Multiple sources reported the ignition source could be a pair of Jack Runner Course shoes. Although the investigation is still ongoing, the Jake Runner Course shoes have been eliminated as a possible ignition source in the vehicle fire.
“A comprehensive examination of the electrical components in the pair of shoes was completed by an electrical engineer from the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office,” said Captain Dean Hensley. “The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office has determined the electrical components in the shoe were not a competent ignition source, thus eliminating the shoes and electrical components as the cause of the fire. The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing. ”
